2nd Prize in APA 2023

Safwan was born in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, and moved to Islamabad in 2000, where he nurtured his passion for art. He graduated in 2018 from the NCA (Rawalpindi) with a specialization in miniature painting. His captivating miniature work in very large sizes presented in different group shows has earned him accolades and recognition and his first solo exhibition in January 2023 was a total sell-out. Using the delicate and nuanced medium of gudrung opaque watercolor, Safwan breathes life into his visions, allowing his audience to connect deeply with his thought-provoking narratives. His intricately crafted artworks serve as mirrors reflecting humanity’s evolving relationship with nature.

ARTIST STATEMENT:

“Mostly, I address the concerning issue of people distancing themselves from the natural world and becoming increasingly ensnared in materialism. My effort is mostly to urge viewers to seek truth and spiritual enlightenment, encouraging them to explore their connection with the divine through the elements of nature. My art prompts viewers to contemplate their place in the universe.”
