Samreen Asghar - A Pakistani contemporary visual artist, researcer, and educator reinter- preting South Asian miniature painting through a contemporary lens - ecological conscious- ness, cultural memory, human and more-than-human interconnection. Works in wasli, large- scale canvas, herbal pigments, acrylics, and mixed media. Over two decades of practice: seven solo exhibitions, three two-person shows, 80+ group exhibitions, including the CICA Museum (South Korea), the World Bank, the Embassy of Sweden, the Bahrain Art Center, and the Omani Society for Fine Arts. Artist Statement:

Drawing from Kangra, Pahari, Persian, Chinese, and Japanese traditions, Asghar merges landscapes, birds, animals, and contemplative female figures into layered narratives bridg- ing history and personal experience. Her work envisions nature not as passive backdrop but as an active witness - one that remembers, endures, and responds to a changing world. Ex- tending miniature’s craftsmanship onto larger canvases, recurring motifs dissolve the bound- ary between human and more-than-human, proposing survival as a collective condition sustained through reciprocity and care.
