
Nida Zainab
Nida Zainab is a contemporary visual artist based in Pakistan. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from COMSATS University Islamabad, where she participated in the 2023 thesis exhibition.
Artistic Practice
Nida's work is characterized by an experimental approach that blends sensory and performative elements. She explores the intersection of repetitive behavior and sensory stimulation, often through video and performance art. Her projects delve into the act of pressing buttons repeatedly, reflecting on how such behaviors can serve as both meditative rituals and forms of creative expression.
Printmaking and Exhibitions
In addition to her video art, Nida has worked in printmaking. Her piece titled "Untitled" is an abstract relief created using the Japanese woodblock technique known as Moku-Hanga. This work was exhibited at Gallery 6 in Islamabad, showcasing her versatility across mediums and her engagement with traditional print techniques in contemporary contexts.
Furthermore, Nida participated in the exhibition “MOKU-HANGA, prints from Pakistan” at the National Art Gallery in Islamabad. This exhibition highlighted a unique fusion of traditional Japanese woodblock printing techniques with Pakistani artistic sensibilities.
