
Imran Mughal
Imran Mughal is a Pakistani visual artist and fashion designer born in 1987, based in Lahore. He earned both his BFA (2010) and MFA (2012) in Textile Art and Design from the University of the Punjab, Lahore, graduating with distinction.
Mughal's artwork is recognized for its vibrant fusion of folklore, pop art, emotional expression, and cultural narratives. He draws inspiration from music, literature, and popular culture to challenge societal norms and advocate for diversity and multiculturalism . His pieces often incorporate elements from folklore, modern art, and deeply entrenched cultural conventions, reflecting the historical and cultural legacy of his country.
In addition to his visual art, Mughal is active in the fashion industry, collaborating with established brands and showcasing his designs in various exhibitions. His work has been featured in several group shows locally, and his pieces are part of the permanent collection at Ambiance Boutique Art Hotels.
Mughal's art has been exhibited internationally, including at Ogirikan Art Gallery in Lagos, Nigeria, where his 2023 acrylic painting "Based on a True Story (IV)" was showcased.
Beyond his artistic endeavors, Mughal is also an educator, offering online courses in graphic design and illustration through platforms like Skillshare.
