
Faheem Abbas
Faheem Abbas is a contemporary Pakistani visual artist known for his abstract and conceptual work that explores the boundaries between the familiar and the unfamiliar. Born in 1987, he is currently based in Lahore, Pakistan.
Education and Background
Abbas initially pursued a career in Chartered Accountancy before transitioning to the arts. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from Beaconhouse National University (BNU) in Lahore in 2022, graduating with distinction and receiving a gold medal for his academic and artistic achievements.
Artistic Practice
His work spans various mediums and delves into themes of uncertainty and perception. Abbas often employs partial abstraction to challenge viewers' understanding of form and space, creating a dialogue between the known and the unknown.
In addition to his formal education, Abbas has studied under various Ustads (masters), honing skills that reflect a deep respect for manual craftsmanship. His art incorporates abstract patterns, lines, colors, and imagery inspired by his experiences as an artist, mechanic, and craftsman.
