Bareera is a contemporary visual artist based in Lahore, Pakistan. Born in 2001, she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree from the prestigious National College of Arts (NCA), Lahore, in 2024, with a specialization in Miniature Painting. Her practice is rooted in traditional techniques while embracing a contemporary sensibility, particularly through her use of gouache on wasli, Arches, and other archival papers.
Artist Statement
Bareera's artistic practice revolves around the intricate beauty of plant life, which she employs as a metaphor to explore the paradoxes of acceptance and resistance. Her paintings are the result of close observation and a deep engagement with the natural cycles of growth and transformation. Through delicate symmetry and repetitive motifs, she captures the rhythm and complexity of nature. Her use of rich colour palettes and traditional materials reflects her commitment to both craftsmanship and conceptual depth.
