Ajab Khan


Early Life and Education
Ajab Khan was born in 1964 in Dera Ismail Khan, Pakistan. He is a self-taught visual artist whose artistic journey began at a young age. As a child, he used fabric dyes to colour black-and-white photographs from his family, which sparked his interest in art. Although he pursued a Master's degree in Urdu literature, his true passion lay in the field of painting.

Artistic Development
Khan's work primarily focuses on natural landscapes and local culture, reflecting his deep connection to rural life. He received his formal artistic training from the renowned Pakistani artist Iqbal Shahid, who became his mentor. This influence is evident in the simplicity and depth of his work, with vibrant yet grounded colors capturing the essence of his personal and cultural heritage.

Throughout his career, Ajab Khan has received numerous accolades for his contributions to the arts. Notably, he won first place in the Makkah Calligraphy Competition in Saudi Arabia and was honored with the "Pride of Performance" award by the Government of Pakistan for his outstanding achievements in art.
